A few weeks ago we announced that we were working on a partnership with Wisebatt, to bridge the gap between electronics and battery manufacturing to provide our customers' design teams with access to additional skills and resources to facilitate development, battery selection and reduce time-to-market for new products.
We have been busy these last few days polishing off our website to bring you the best of Wisebatt for free…. with a touch of Saft in it!
One of the difficulties that developers faced when developing an IoT device, is that they had to commit to a specific circuit design or vendor before even knowing if this was the right choice or if it would offer the best chance of success for their device. Not anymore!
Thanks to Wisebatt for Saft, you can now estimate your device’s power consumption and battery life, and its components price and availability, and you can try out different hardware and software options before even creating your first physical prototype.
After creating your account, you will be able to build your virtual prototype and test it with our Saft batteries.
First you’ll need to select your components and Saft batteries from the extensive items library —more than 7,500 components from almost 100 different hardware vendors! — to quickly draft your device's schematics.
You’ll then be able to describe the behavior of your device, and automatically generate all the possible states that your hardware can handle based on your schematics, even if it’s not yet fully developed.
From there, the tools will generate information such as your battery’s estimated lifetime within your device, its power consumption, the Bill of Materials (BOM) or the lead time of your components. Identifying the most energy consuming functions affecting your device’s autonomy will allow you to optimize it in order to get the most out of the battery and achieve the longest possible lifetime for your device.
Once you are satisfied with your design, you can save it and access it later. It will remain confidential in your Wisebatt for Saft account.

Wisebatt’s technology is based on more than 10 years of scientific research at the Computer Science Laboratory at Sorbonne University (LIP6 - Paris). The tool was tested and validated with more than 200 experiments in several environment configurations.
