Saft North Haven has an open position for a Quality Assurance Technician. Responsibilities include:
To implement, maintain, and assure the quality levels sought to improve our processes and customer satisfaction. Quality Assurance inspections include, but are not limited to: incoming inspections, random shipment inspections, and verification of inbound and outbound products. Additionally, this role will manage the 3-month stock refreshing program. This role is responsible for the maintenance of non-conforming goods, issuing resolutions, and ensuring the proper segregation of non-conforming materials. In addition, this individual will work in all aspects of warehouse and assist service team on occasion. The position reports to the Technical Manager who along with the Warehouse Manager sets targets, provides instructions, training, planning & guidance.
Implement system and execute incoming inspections for non-safety stock and safety stock Nickel Cadmium (Ni-Cd) products. Oversee and Assist with incoming material inspections as required for all Nickel Cadmium products and accessories. New products/ vendors (compliance with specifications with assistance of Technical Application Engineer). Random inspections, adhere to NCR procedure for non-conformities.
Perform analysis of customer goods returned for evaluation / warranty consideration or assist warehouse technicians with return testing activities. Assist with site QA - CCR system procedures and reporting to various factories with warehouse staff and manager, technical staff. Assist warehouse staff with monthly RMA shipments to the factory via Air or Vessel with proper Factory References, CCR references, and internal RA references and ensuring they are reviewed in a timely manner at factory.
Pocket Plate Nickel Cadmium Battery (3) month Recharge Program to ensure all materials are maintained per factory TF standard documents and are in the best possible condition for shipment to the customers. Determining if specific Battery Charging/Commissioning routines should be implemented for high volume customer.
Control of Non Conformities. Maintain a Non-Conformance area within the warehouse with all material properly identified and marked.
Maintenenace of all Calibration activies including working with extrernal vendors for field service equipment, warehouse meters and equipment, chargers, load banks withing a timely manner so as to no disrupt warehouse and field service activities. Maintaining up to date files and records for equipment. Ensuring software is accurate on battery data recording devices (ie. Agilent DVM)
Implementing and Assuring Quality practices, procedures and forms. Performing audits of shipments including electrical inspections, hardware and accessory packing inspection, documentation inspection.
Saft is hiring a Sales Manager in the Industrial Standby Division. This role will reside on the West Coast but report to an office in CT. Responsibilities include:
Technical support of sales force on energy storage projects, including integration of Li-ion solutions with the power electronics/renewable energy package.
To successfully test Saft Jacksonville Energy Storage Systems and subsystems, including but not limited to, factory acceptance, qualification, validation, product development testing. Includes generation of test procedures and subsequent reports.
The Software Engineer provides the technical aspect of the system software design to ensure product design for the US market with respect to technical requirements, design quality, product and costs and according to Jax BE rules and building blocks. The incumbent provides expertise in software design and analysis, support of technical issues, and review of designs and documentation. The incumbent’s broad background and technical depth in software design and analysis provide highly skilled problems solving and design leadership. The incumbent also ensures the technical support for pre-project discussions and quotations.
The Senior Program Manager coordinates the activities of development, realization of the prototypes, and validation; until the certification of the product and the approved transmission of the design files to the product line that will manufacture them. The incumbent ensures the follow-up of the project in terms of Quality, Costs, and On-Time Delivery.
The Senior Mechanical Engineer provides design and development in areas such as mechanical, thermal, and electromechanical systems for production of Lithium-Ion battery systems. Also, supports the development and improvement of Saft products; by using the appropriate requirements management, standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the product development cycle. The Senior Mechanical Engineer Provides structural analysis and thermal analysis of battery systems and components. Also, leads other engineers with design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for cost (DFC) to ensure that the design of components and systems are optimized for manufacturing and assembly. Leads technical tasks for small to medium projects. Performs tolerance stacks and apply GD&T to drawings. Participates in DFMEA’s and provides input to PFMEEA’s and creation of test plans. Provides Engineering support to manufacturing and operations and contributes to technical proposals.

The selected applicant will design and develop the next generation of lithium-ion cells for new defense, space, and racing applications. Analyze cell performance and process data and improve design to optimize performance, manufacturability and cost.
