Bid Manager

The Bid Manager works with relevant function groups to manage the bid qualification (bid – no bid) process for new opportunities. Ensure that the customer technical and programmatic requirements are clearly identified and validated by the teams. Coordinate costing inputs from the Engineering, Procurement, Program Office and other relevant functions. Obtain program execution schedule from the Program Office.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Sales Manager to prepare and review the commercial aspects of the bid, ensuring all services are included in the final price to the customer.
  • Ensures that the bid is executed in accordance with company procedures.
  • Tracks risk, risk impact and mitigation plan throughout the bid process, including the schedule and cost impact associated with the risk, defining the program contingency.
  • Organizes the technical, commercial and programmatic teams to write the proposal in line with the customer instructions or clearly, concise and addresses all critical aspects of the offer - both in terms of content and presentation (such as preparation of a management summary, commercial section, programmatic and technical sections)
  • Manages the review of the offer with other internal teams prior to submitting to the sales manager.
  • Manages the bid budget and ensures timely delivery of compliant and commercially sound bids.
  • Understand and resolve complex technical, strategic and business issues.
  • Tracks and manages all necessary changes to the bid driven by internal or external drivers.
  • Validates that the customer order / contract is in line with the proposed bid. If there are any deviations, discusses them with the team and creates a plan of action.
  • Organizes and leads bid review with the sales team
  • Coordinates the status of the bids with the Engineering group and ensures that resources are reserved and available for the project.
  • Document assumptions made during the proposal process.
  • Document and present, at the Bid Review stage, all risks associated with the Program execution.

Minimum Requirements

Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in an Engineering field

Experience: Project management, engineering, project development

Specific Knowledge: Project and Risk Management

Business Understanding: Industrial applications, Battery Market
