Saft’s VLFe rechargeable lithium-ion (Li-ion) cells are the highest power iron phosphate cathode based Li-ion cells currently available on the market. A licensed source of lithium-iron phosphate is used in their manufacture. Although lower in power than standard Saft high power Li-ion cells, VLFe cells are ideally suited for conditions requiring a battery capable of tolerating abuse, such as underwater and aviation applications.
Three cells are available in the VLFe range – VL10VFe, VL25PFe and VL45EFe
System Approach
To maximize performance and ensure total safety, Saft integrates individual Li-ion cells both mechanically and electrically into battery systems that are designed to the specific needs of each application. These battery systems incorporate electronics for the control and monitoring of performance, thermal and safety management.
