 INDUSTRIAL BATTERIES : COLLECTION POINTS
In most European countries as well as in the United States, Canada, Australia and South Africa, Saft has identified collection points and recyclers to ensure that the transportation and recycling of spent batteries are performed in an environment friendly way, in compliance with international, national and local laws and regulations.
Except for our facility in Oskarshamn, Sweden, these collection points are not owned nor operated by Saft.
If your company is located in another part of the world and you wish to have your batteries recycled, you should contact your Saft sales representative or your Saft agent for advice on how to proceed.
INDUSTRIAL BATTERIES : WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS SHOULD DO
When customers buy new industrial batteries from Saft, we strongly recommend that they deliver spent batteries that have reached their end of life and that are being replaced to the nearest recommended collection point. This commitment extends to batteries from other manufacturers that are being replaced by Saft batteries.
From there on, these spent batteries will be transported to authorised recycling plants where the valuable contents will be extracted and incorporated into new products.
In the countries listed below, the cost of transporting the spent batteries from the collection points to the identified recycling facilities and the cost of their recycling at these facilities is covered by Saft.
Moreover, most of these collection points will be in a position to organise the collection of the spent batteries from the customer site to the collection point.
